Why do manufacturers place their trust in us?
Although it is ultimately up to manufacturers to ensure product safety, there is always the option of having products voluntarily assessed by an accredited certification body. As manufacturers are responsible for every aspect of their products, confirmation from an independent body that they comply with the applicable directives and regulations provides additional security.
As an accredited and notified certification body, Suva carries out type examinations in accordance with European directives and regulations relating to machinery, safety components and controls, low-voltage switchgear and controlgear and personal protective equipment against falls from a height.
The following database contains details of all type examination certificates issued by Suva since 1 January 1993 – including valid, replaced, expired and cancelled certificates.
Suva helps manufacturers and distributors to ensure CE conformity for their products.

The Machinery Directive stipulates that machine manufacturers must carry out a risk assessment and take measures to reduce any risks. One way of meeting this requirement is to follow the Suva method for the risk assessment of technical devices and equipment.
This method is based on the EN ISO 12100:2010 standard (Safety of machinery – General principles for design – Risk assessment and risk reduction).
Suva offers an Internet application and training seminars for implementing this method.
The certification body will be pleased to provide you with information on risk assessment.
