If you work for a company that is insured with us, you will benefit from comprehensive insurance cover in the event of accidents and occupational diseases. For detailed information, please see the brochure “Suva insurance cover – What employees should know”.
The most important points in a nutshell are:
- As an employee, apprentice or intern, you are insured with Suva against occupational accidents and diseases that may arise in the course of your work.
- If you work for more than eight hours per week for the same employer, you are also insured against leisure-time accidents.
- In the event of an accident or occupational disease, Suva will pay for all necessary medical treatments, medical aids (e.g. prostheses) and medically necessary travel, transport and rescue costs in Switzerland (in some cases even abroad).
- If you are incapable of work due to an accident or occupational disease, from the third day you will receive 80 per cent of your insured income in the form of a daily allowance – in proportion with the degree of your incapacity for work.
