Suva has a federal mandate as Switzerland’s liaison office for international occupational accidents and occupational diseases. It coordinates accident insurance claims for people from EU/EFTA countries and the United Kingdom, clarifies who is responsible for what and ensures information is exchanged.

Countries party to the social security agreement
The Swiss Liaison Office for occupational accidents and occupational diseases concerning people from EU/EFTA countries and the United Kingdom is designed to facilitate exchange between Switzerland and the countries party to the social security agreement (in particular EU/EFTA countries). The interactive graphic shows which countries have signed this agreement.

Information for private individuals
As the Liaison Office, we take on the administrative processing (case management) for people with foreign accident insurance (EU/EFTA countries and the United Kingdom) who have suffered an occupational accident or are suffering from an occupational disease and are being treated in Switzerland. One aspect of this involves checking and paying invoices from service providers (hospitals, doctors, therapists, etc.).
If you are planning to seek treatment in Switzerland, we require confirmation of cover by your accident insurer (DA1 form). Please send us the DA1 form. Once we have received this, we will open a claim for you and provide you with information on how to proceed in writing.
Have you already received medical or therapeutic treatment in Switzerland and been issued with an invoice? You do not have to pay these invoices yourself. We will check and pay these invoices for you.
Sending confirmation of cover and unpaid invoices by e-mail or post
Please send us confirmation of cover by your accident insurer (DA1 form) and the unpaid invoices by e-mail to: sc.verbindungsstelle@suva.ch
Would you prefer to send us your documents by post? Then please send everything to this address:

No social security agreement: direct processing required
We are only responsible for persons or employers from EU/EFTA countries or the United Kingdom. Persons who live or work in other countries are not covered by a social security agreement. The countries concerned are marked in grey in the interactive graphic above.
In these cases, please contact the affected person directly so that they can process their case with the insurers in their home country.
Information for insurers
For treatment in an EU/EFTA country or in the United Kingdom with a social security agreement in place, we will send confirmation of cover or a request to apply a foreign tariff system to the foreign liaison office. The countries concerned are marked in light blue in the interactive graphic above.
Forwarding of forms DA1 and DA002 to the competent liaison office
Please send us form DA1 (confirmation of cover) to the following e-mail address: sc.ausland@suva.ch.

We aim to process all enquiries as quickly as possible.
